With an interest in French wines, history, and geography, I had hoped that this guide might serve to choose areas to visit and be useful once there. However, It feels like bits and pieces of regional guides were tossed together with a few comments about the wine regions. Much more about places to visit than the wine. Also, for a just published book (supposedly spring of 2013), the vintage chart on the end sleeve should not end at 2008. This is additional evidence that insufficient care has been paid to the book's preparation. Instead of this book and despite the potential extra baggage and reading, suggest combining regional green guides with the many other sources of information on French wine regions.Product details

A very useful reference for wine lovers and France visitors!
Excellent guide to wine regions in France -- no nonsense with lots of maps and facts. We'll be using it next April. I love Michelin guides; they're the best!
I wish I hadn't bought it. This book was difficult to follow, had small print, was not user friendly and did not make planning my trip any easier. I did not get any good tips or insight from this book. Better to do your own research via the internet, and purchase Rick Steeve's France book, which is absolutely worth buying.
